Volunteers

What do our volunteers do?

We always welcome people who want to volunteer to help children and young people with disabilities achieve their goals.

Each person using Marillac services has created a “My Life Plan” that outlines what they want to do and achieve. Volunteers can be very important in helping them reach these goals.

How can I help?

You could help people with a disability enjoy recreation, pursue hobbies and interests or find employment experiences. Maybe you have connections that will help them follow these paths.

You can help support them in practical, day to day ways. Each young person is also supported by specialist staff, and we do not ask volunteers to provide personal care.

Do I qualify to help?

If you have the interest and enthusiasm to help, please contact us - we would love to hear from you. Someone from Marillac – or the Regional Volunteer Centre with which we are linked – will talk with you to find out what kind of volunteer support would match your skills and interests, and what training you might want to undertake.
